Terms of service

The agreement for using P/9, in sentences meant to be read. Where we cannot promise something, this says so rather than burying it.

Last updated 10 September 2026

The short version

A summary, so you know what you are reading. The sections below are the ones that count.

  • Prepaid credits in rupees. At zero, requests are refused rather than billed on credit.
  • What you send and what comes back are yours. We claim nothing, keep nothing and train on nothing.
  • There is no uptime SLA on the shared service, and we say so instead of implying one. Dedicated capacity is agreed separately.
  • You are responsible for what your keys are used for, and for checking model output before you rely on it.
  • We do not try to exclude the liability the law says we cannot, and we do not cover indirect or consequential loss.
01

Who this is between

These terms are an agreement between paranine (“P/9”, “we”) and you. If you are using P/9 for an employer or a client, they are with that organisation, and you are confirming you may agree on its behalf.

You accept them by creating an account or by calling the API. If you do not accept them, do not do either.

02

What the service is

P/9 is a gateway. You send an OpenAI-compatible request to one route id; we authenticate it, apply your budgets, dispatch it to a model, meter it and bill it to your balance. Some routes serve from Ascend NPUs inside Pakistan; others pass through to upstream providers outside it. The catalogue marks which is which, and it can change as routes open and close.

The platform is early. Routes, prices, limits and features will change, sometimes at short notice. We will not change them capriciously, and where a change would break working code we will give you notice at the account address.

03

Your account and your keys

  • Give us accurate details when you sign up, and keep the account email address current. It is where notices go.
  • An API key is a secret. It is shown once, at creation, and we store only a hash of it. We cannot recover it for you.
  • You are responsible for what is called with your keys, including by anyone you give them to, and for the spend those calls create. Revoke a key in the dashboard the moment you think it has leaked; revocation takes effect on the next request.
  • Tell us at info@paranine.com if you believe someone has got into your account.
  • Do not share one account between organisations that should not see each other’s usage. Keys, projects and budgets exist so you do not have to.
04

What you may not run through it

The short rule is that you are responsible for what you send and for what you do with what comes back. Specifically, do not use P/9 to:

  • break the law that applies to you, or to us in Pakistan;
  • produce or distribute material that sexually exploits children, incites violence, or harasses or defames a person;
  • impersonate a real person or organisation, or generate content designed to deceive people about who wrote it in a way that causes harm;
  • attack, probe or degrade the platform: circumventing rate limits or budgets, hunting for other organisations’ data, or loading the service in a way meant to deny it to others;
  • resell raw access to the API as though it were your own infrastructure, or represent our availability as a commitment you have made to someone else, unless we have agreed that in writing;
  • breach the licence of a model you are calling, or the terms of an upstream provider on a Global route. Those apply to your use as well as ours.

If something here is being abused and we have to act quickly, we may suspend a key or an account first and explain afterwards. We will explain.

05

Credits and billing

  • P/9 runs on prepaid credits, denominated in Pakistani rupees. You add credit; inference is debited from the balance as it is served.
  • When the balance reaches zero, requests are rejected rather than served on credit. There is no invoice at the end of the month and no overdraft to fall into.
  • The dashboard shows the per-route price and your spend against it. Prices can change; we will publish a change before it takes effect and it will not apply retroactively to credit you have already spent.
  • On requests served against your own provider key, that provider bills you directly and we settle only our own part.
  • Taxes, where they apply, are yours unless we have said otherwise in writing.

What happens to credit you have not spent is set out in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

06

Availability, and what we do not promise

We run this carefully and we are on call for it. We have not published a service level agreement for the shared service, so we are not promising you a percentage of uptime. Saying so plainly is better than an SLA nobody has signed.

Dedicated capacity is different: it is agreed in writing, deployment by deployment, and whatever that agreement says about uptime and support is what applies. See dedicated inference.

The service is provided as it is. Model output can be wrong, and it is wrong in confident and plausible ways. Do not put it in front of a decision that matters without a human reading it first, and do not treat it as legal, medical or financial advice. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete or fit for your purpose.

07

Your content, and ours

What you send and what you get back are yours. We claim no ownership of either, and we do not use them to train models. We do not keep them at all: see the privacy policy.

You grant us only what we need to run the request: permission to transmit and process it for as long as it takes to serve and meter it. Nothing beyond that.

The site, the dashboard, the documentation, the P/9 name and our own marks are ours. The models we serve are not: each carries its own licence from whoever released it, and those licences govern what you may do with the weights and, in some cases, with the output.

Other companies’ names and logos appear on this site and in the dashboard only to identify the models and hardware we serve. Those marks belong to their owners, we claim no rights in them, and their appearance is not a claim that any of those companies endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with P/9.

08

If something goes wrong

Some liability cannot be limited by anyone, and we are not trying to: nothing here excludes our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.

Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost data or business interruption.

09

Ending the agreement

  • You can stop at any time. Revoke your keys and write to us to close the account; what happens to any remaining balance is in the refund policy.
  • We can suspend or close an account that is breaching these terms, or that we are required to act on by law. Except where we have to act immediately, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it.
  • If we close the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and return unspent credit.
10

Changes to these terms

We will update this page when the terms change, and the date at the top changes with it. For a change that materially affects your rights we will notify account holders at the account email address before it takes effect. Continuing to use P/9 after that is acceptance; if you would rather not, close the account and ask for your unspent balance back.

11

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. We are based in Pakistan, the gateway runs in Pakistan and the service is billed in rupees, so this states where the agreement already sits rather than moving it somewhere convenient.

If you use P/9 from a country whose consumer or data protection law gives you rights that cannot be contracted away, you keep them. Nothing here is intended to override them.

If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest stands. Before anyone goes near a court, write to info@paranine.com: nearly everything is faster to fix that way.
